Phoenix Fire Fighter FS0441E

The Phoenix Fire Fighter FS0441E is fire tested to Swedish NT Fire 017 – 120 Paper and provides 120 minutes’ fire protection for paper documents. Fire protection has been extended to digital media and the Phoenix Fire Fighter FS0441E  has been tested to the MTC - DIP120-60DM fire test standard providing 60 minutes’ fire protection for digital media.  Part of the testing procedure is a drop test, the safe has been impact tested from 9.1 metres for resistance to the impact of falling through the burning floors of a building.

The safe has a recommended insurance rating of  £2,500.00 or £25,000.00 valuables, with a height adjustable shelf and a lockable drawer as standard and is secured with an advanced high security electronic lock with programmable hidden and scrambled code and a clear LED display.

Prepared for floor fixing, bolts for concrete supplied.

    Its just the right size (externally and internally) for my needs with the fire protection I was looking for (60+mins). Wide enough to fit a laptop (~37 cm wide) and a backpack containing camera equipment (i.e. no need to empty the sack - just pop it all in the safe). There is still room to spare and I purchased a second shelf to store paper documents. The safe comes with a lockable drawer which is a really nice touch for storing passports, phones and smaller cameras.

    Bear in mind that the door needs to be opened about 145 degrees to pull the drawer out fully and to store the laptop.

    The safes comes with two bolts for floor anchoring and is ~660 cm high (not 720 cm quoted on the Phoenix site - I think this figure refers to the discontinued PAD4 locking kit version which sees the safe sitting on a base pedestal).

    Minor niggle is that the metal shelves fit loosely (simply solved by jamming a bit of cardboard down the shelf sides to secure).

    Excellent customer service from Charles at safe safe who promptly answered my queries when I was deciding on which safe to purchase. I bought the safe online and it was delivered next day by Charles and John who reversed their van up my drive to deposit the safe in my garage. I chose to deal with safesafe because they are a relatively local family business and I have not been disappointed with my choice of safe or retailer.
